Do I need a subscription?
Yes. A Collector plan unlocks the app, and a new install has no free path. The plan screen appears at the end of the first-run questionnaire, and it carries Restore purchases in every state, so an existing subscriber never has to buy twice.
A plan covers the bundled catalogue (629 documented styles from 1981 to 1999), search, bag comparisons, wishlists, your local collection, unlimited Creed scans and an allowance of whole-bag photo identifications.
If you finished onboarding on an earlier build, that installation keeps the free tier it was given, including its single free Creed scan.
Plans and credits
Annual adds 50 whole-bag photo identifications each year. Where the App Store offers it, this plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
Weekly adds 2 whole-bag photo identifications each week. There is no free trial on this option.
Both plans include unlimited Creed scans, and unused credits do not expire. The App Store prices each plan in the currency of your storefront, so the figure shown on the plan screen is the figure you pay — along with any trial length, the renewal price and how to cancel, it is stated there before you buy.
Collector Monthly is no longer sold. If you subscribed to it while it was offered, your plan access continues as before.
Creed scans
Point the camera at the serial patch. The photo is sent over an encrypted connection and read by Google Gemini. Kovus does not store or retain it; Google handles the request under its own Gemini API terms. If your iPhone is offline, or the reading service cannot be reached, the stamp is read on your iPhone instead. Creed scans are unlimited on every plan. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
Restore a purchase
In the app, open More, choosePlans & access, then tapRestore purchases. Stay signed in to the Apple ID used for the original purchase. If access still does not appear, email us with the app’s anonymous support identifier and, if available, the Apple transaction reference.
Manage or cancel a subscription
Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, chooseSubscriptions, then select Vintage Handbag Identifier. Cancelling stops future renewals. Deleting the app, or using Delete my data inside the app, doesnot cancel a subscription.
A photo will not scan
For a Creed scan, use even light, avoid glare and fill the frame with the serial patch. A Creed scan still works without a connection, because the stamp is read on your iPhone instead. For a whole-bag identification, include the full bag, a clear Creed patch, hardware and distinctive construction details. Camera access can be changed in iPhone Settings.
Where is my collection stored?
Saved bags, notes, collection photos and recent identification history are stored locally on your iPhone. Removing the app removes that local data, subject to Apple’s device backup behaviour. Kovus does not store or retain Creed photo bytes; whole-bag photos leave the device only after you confirm. Read the Privacy Policy.

Results are catalogue comparisons based on visible evidence — not authentication, appraisal or a guarantee of age, condition or resale value.
