Coach Creed decoder

Type the serial exactly as it appears on the patch. The decoder matches documented formats and reports only what they can resolve, not authentication or appraisal.

Type it as printed. Letters, digits and the dash are all that matter, and case does not.

Try

Enter a serial and the reading appears here. Nothing is uploaded; the decode runs entirely in your browser.

A serial reading describes format, not authenticity. It cannot confirm a bag is genuine, and it is not an appraisal. Have high-value purchases checked by a qualified professional.

It reads worn characters the way a person would. A capital I becomes a 1 and a capital O becomes a 0, so you do not have to guess which one the stamp intended.

If you want to compare each pattern by hand, use the Coach serial number lookup and format guide for lengths, dash positions and date limits.

On a 1994-onward letter-led serial, search the number after the dash in the catalogue style-number index.

Questions about decoding

Where do I find the serial number?

On the interior patch. Coach now calls it a Storypatch; collectors often call its text the Creed. The serial is usually the last line below that text.

My serial has letters that could be numbers. Does that matter?

The decoder already treats a capital I as a 1 and a capital O as a 0, because those are the two characters people most often misread on a worn patch. Type what you see and it will normalise them.

Does this upload my details anywhere?

No. The decode runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored.
