Vintage Handbag Identifier is now available for iPhone on the App Store. It takes the research tools on this website into a collector workflow made for using beside a bag.
Why the website and app are separate
Vintage Bag Index remains the quickest place to decode a Coach Creed or look up a documented style number without installing anything. The iPhone app carries the camera workflow, field catalogue and private collection tools that are more useful while inspecting a bag.
What the app includes
The field catalogue covers 629 documented Coach styles from 1981-1999. You can scan a Creed, search the archive, save notes in a private collection and compare up to four whole-bag photographs against documented catalogue details.
Free to download. A Collector subscription is required. The App Store shows the plans available for your storefront before purchase.
What a result does not prove
The result is a catalogue comparison, not authentication. It is not an appraisal, and it does not prove a bag’s age, condition or resale value. Visible evidence can narrow a search, but it cannot replace a qualified in-person assessment when the stakes are high.
Photograph handling and provider disclosures are covered in the privacy policy.
What Collector’s Notes will cover
This journal will hold evidence-led identification methods, catalogue research and material updates to the app. The aim is useful collector reference material, not a stream of generic product announcements.
